I'm upgrading my RAM and I already have a 1x Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR4 8GB 2666Mhz Cas16.

My question is if it would be the best/smart option to buy the same model as the one I already have so i get 2x8=16 (2x Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR4 8GB 2666Mhz Cas16)

Newegg just had a nice deal on some DDR3 and because the heat spreaders had color options - the part numbers could vary. I wouldn't even try ordering a blue to match my reds even thought its only one character!

That looks like a decent deal. I been looking at used DDR3 and the price of it has definitely gone up in the past years(ram is so weird, it seems to go up in value the older it gets).

From my research, you can mix rams(brand, speed, etc) but the weakest ram of your set will determine how your PC uses all the rams. So unless you find an awesome deal on something else, I would stick with the exact same brand, speed, etc.
