Should I buy this Power Supply?

Solution

It does have enough power. Does it have the cables necessary for the 1080 you have or are looking at? Idk. I also have the sneaking suspicion you will be overclocking the CPU and GPU meaning you need something with a wee bit more power. Technically speaking my answer is yes IF it has the necessary PCIe supplementary power cables. Best solution with OC'ing in mind? Not imo.

Nothing less than https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438053 with OC'ing in mind.

I suspect the system will draw a little under 400W at load. I think you will be fine with the Seasonic. If I had those parts I'd want to have a much more efficient PSU. I think The G2's warranty might last longer which does add value.

Thanks mate. Yes I'm planning an over clock to about 4.5ghz. I'm a little tight on the budget as I had planned to get the g2 with a 1070 but I saw a 1080 for $430 and me being an idiot took it and killed my budget. I think the max I could do unfortunately is around $65. Is the Corsair CX550M better and worth it over the seasonic?

No it isn't, imo.

You weren't an idiot. You wanted the best gaming possible. The idiotic move would be to try and install a no brand not rated generic 400W PSU because that's the amount of power a PSU calc said you would use.

I would instead treat yourself for your brave and courageous choice. Choose the fully modular one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093&cm_re=Seasonic_520W-_-17-151-093-_-Product so your cable management will be a little easier/neater.

BUT I still don't know if that 1080 calls for two 8 pin PCIe cables or a 6 and an 8.

It's a Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce Oc, and just checking it said a "8 pin*1" (not too sure what that means) and pcie 3.0 x 16

No worries then.
