Should I convert vga to hdmi or displayport?

Hi,

I'm getting a new display (LG 29UM67-P) and a new FreeSync enabled GPU (Sapphire 390X) and now I'm left with my old Asus display, which I want to use as a secondary monitor but only has a trusty VGA connector...

I was wondering: Should I convert it to HDMI or DisplayPort? My GPU has 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort (and DVI-D, but screw DVI).

Both with similar price and good reviews... is there any benefit from using one over the other or it just doesn't matter?

DVI to VGA adapter is the easiest and cheapest way.

do you have onboard graphics (from motherboard)?

The 390x only uses dvi-d so a simple passive dvi to vga adapter wouldn't work. Dvi-d to vga requires an active dvi-d to vga converter.
