Should I create a custom fan curve?

I recently bought a Sapphire Nitro r9 380 and under gaming load the temps get up to 76°C. I'm not really comfortable with these temperatures especially when the ambient temp is only about 18°C. I also found the intelligent fan control was not even turning my fans on in CSGO when the GPU was at 75°.

I have considered a custom fan curve. I have tested out a basic curve to see what temps i get. I get about 64°C under full gaming load and the fan stays around 50%. The fan is quiet until about 60 % and the intelligent fan control only used up to 40% fan which seemed like it was allowing my card to become unnecessarily hot.

I just need some help deciding whether I should try to use a custom fan loop and what the pros and cons are. Really appreciate any help :)

Solution
Yes. Create custom curve that optimized for temperature/ noise. I would launch gpu benchmark, set fans to 100% wait for it to stabilize and then start turning down fan speed and monitor temperature rise.

Thanks for the answer :) I'll give it a try.
