Should I disable Intel SpeedStep?

This thing is on by default, so my 8750H just automatically overclock every time I'm gaming. The fans get very noisy and temperature goes up to 82 degrees. I've tried to turn it off. The CPU is capped at 2.2GHz. The temperature was about 65 degrees while gaming and the gameplay was quite smooth as well.
Do I really need those extra frequencies for gaming? Should I leave it on or off?

Hello, thanks for the reply. Don't you think 82C is quite hot for a CPU while gaming? I think 65C is a more acceptable temperature.

laptop cpu have a higher temp threshold

But it also mean more heat inside the laptop

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm just wondering if the CPU itself will be damaged with it turned off, cause the CPU will run approximately twice fast when in idle.

If you turn off speedstep then the CPU also does not slow down when on battery and idle. Better to leave it on.
