Should I get a gaming headset for my situation

I currently have the Beyerdynamic dt990 headphones and the creative g6 dac. They sound great but so was wondering if top end gaming headphones would sound better and give me a competitive advantage for gaming. I have virtual Dolby Atmos surround sound installed for my current headphones. Price does not matter. Do gaming headphones give a competitive advantage or sound better than studio headphones for gaming?

The only reason I can think of headphones giving a competitive edge in gaming is if a few things happen.
1. Your playing multimode with a partner or group of people and you need to depend on what they said.
2. Your headphone speed of voice transfer from one person to you and vise vera is slower than another headphones speed.

But other than that, I don't think so. A competitive edge is usually going to be in the computer hardware to be honest with you.
