Should i get a new power supply? not sure if its failing?

My pc yesterday out of nowhere shutdown and restarted itself, BUT after it rebooted there was a windows update and later found out windows update was set to automatically update. im not sure if its my power supply or the update. after that my pc is running normal as always, im just a bit worried.

I wouldn't replace it unless you have more issues , it probably just updated and shut down your PC which can happen.

If you do have more issues in the future , stop back we will help you choose a new power supply.

If Your PC boots, and works normally, then Your power supply is not totally gone.

Odds are, Your power supply is fine and will never need to be replaced.

Keep running until it refuses to boot.

i forgot to mention that the pc rebooted and the screen went black, there was no "shutting down" or restarting page before. also the monitor tuned off with the reboot

is it true that if a power supply fails, it will take anotjer peice of hardware with it? thats what im afraid of

It can happen , usually with cheap units.

Usually a failing power supply will not take something with it.

A sudden power surge can take out the power supply and other components at the same time.

The worst that can happen is Your hard disk can lose power in the middle of writing, repeatedly. (This is uncommon.) Usually a ScanDisk will fix that.

A failing power supply can take out other components , but it's not common.To protect your system it's best to purchase a quality power supply.

o i completly fogot, i went to to event veiwer and got a "kernal-power" critical error 41 or something like that, what does that mean?
