Hi, do I get this motherboard. Right now I have a Q9550 and a P35-DS3 board, and I would like something newer. I want to get an ASRocK Z77 Extreme4 board, with an i7-3770k, and G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 16 or maybe 32 GB 1600 MHz. My PSU is an MSI MAG A650BN, and my GPU is a GTX 970.

I had a Z77 Extreme4. It was a great board.
I had the same board and overclocked my 2500K to 5.0 with just 1.26 volts per BIOS it was n fishy to me.
After a while I was changing the cooler and the back of the board in the CPU area was discolored checked the volts and it was actually 1.38 but said 1.26 still in BIOS.
Edit If I remember the numbers right been a lot of years.

No clue if it was ever fixed with a update.

Damn so it is a good board? Good. Do any of you maybe know if I could perform a SLIC 2.1 BIOS mod for it or I would have to go on MDL forums and ask?

Is there maybe any Z77 motherboard that has an IDE port? I know the ASRocK Fatal1ty Z77 Professional has a slot but it is veeeery expensive. Is there like a list or known mobos with an IDE port that supports up to 2 IDE devicss?

Nevermind I can just buy an IDE PCI-E card off of AliExpress that even has some E-SATA ports and SATA2 ports

Does anybody have any more suggestions for a Z77 motherboard? I have found some that seem good, these are the ones listed:

- MSI Z77A-GD55
- Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
- ASUS P8Z77-V
- Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 TH

I made an elimination to these 4 mobos. My main CPU to use is the 3770K as said before, and I wanna run these OSes:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. All 64-bit as the CPU is x86-64.

My primary use is: Modding the BIOS to have SLIC support (OEM activation of Windows like what OEM manufacturers do), play retro games, and use programs in Windows 7 and more. And some Virtual Machine use.

My specs without the mobo are this:

PSU: MSI MAG A650BN
GPU: ASUS STRIX GTX 970
RAM: G.SKILL 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz (I gotta buy it)
Cooler: N/A (I will find a good one and tell you later)
SSD: ADATA SU650 512 GB, Samsung 870 EVO 500 GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST3250410AS 250GB
Add-in cards: TP-LINK TG-3468 PCI-E Ethernet card
Case: DELUX MG760 (with 3 80mm fans, and a 120mm fans, still thinking what cooler to get as it needs to fit in the case)

If anyone needs more information feel free to ask, and also I would like to OC my 3770K to 4.5 GHz, so yeah I gotta find probably a 180W TDP cooler or less
