[SOLVED] Should i go 1440p or 4k?

Solution
If you have a 3080, that is the sweet spot for 4k gaming.
You will find that a 4k monitor in the 27" size will have very small text.
It is good to invest in the best monitor you can afford.
To me, a large/wide 4k monitor would be more immersive.
40" or more.
Most will be limited to 60hz, but a 48"LG OLED tv can supposedly do 120hz.

Depends on your expectations and hardware to drive it.
27-32" 1440p is a sweet spot, much easier to drive than 4k.
If you want to stay on the smaller side of this range 4k would probably be a bit wasted, depending on your use case.
im gonna try to get a rtx 3080 i have 32gb ram at 3600 a ryzen 7 5800x im thinking 4k might be cheaper in the long run because if i go 1440p and want to upgrade to 4k i will need another monitor but then again is 3080 a strong 4k card? i cant afford a 3090

The 3080 should be sufficient for most 4k gaming, assuming you dont mind refresh rates in the 60-100hz range.
Cheaper in the long run is a tossup, depending how long youd stay at a given resolution.
4k monitors are most certainly going to come down in price as time goes on, and probably get better as well.

I dont see any problem moving to 4k given your specs, but I would aim for a larger size than 27" at 4k. 32" at least.
