Should I go for a Intel Core i5-4670K or an AMD FX-8350 for my build?

FX 8350 if you want more horse power for multitasking and rendering and compressing videos, also, if you choose this one, according to AMD future games will all be optimized for AMD, since the Xbox One and PS4 have both AMD chipsets, so technically, games will be automatically optimized for AMD, also for the Mantle API that promises to destroy Directx. AMD can handle some good overclocks.

I5 is good too, have some amazing performance, can do some amazing job in overclocking without heating too much. It pretty much depends on waht you're going to do, if multitasking, go for AMD, if for gaming, I'd recommend the I5.

The 4670K will give you more power a core per core, and will be a bit more money. The 8350 will be a little better in multi-threaded programs.

My preference is the 4670K. Quality over quantity.

I will suggest you to go the gigabyte for both platform since you're doing the OC....
gigabyte has the dual bios technology which secure you more than the other brand. and gigabyte Z87 has the higher OC potential.

I5 gives better OC performance than the AMD now.....

go for I5

If minor OC then intel is still better. (I am not Intel fans!)
minor OC on AMD is a waste!
