I want a desktop just for MS office. I have quite big files which dont run well on i5 2500 machine. So now I am thinking to build a new computer.
I have short listed these processors i5 4440, amd fx 8230, amd fx 6300.
Beside processor should i also get ssd?

Much less than that. Assuming the same clock speed 5th gen Intel CPUs are about 17% more powerful than 2nd gen Intel CPUs (and of course more much more powerful than AMD FX CPUs).

A SSD can improve the responsiveness of a PC because of faster read / write speeds compared to a hard drive. So if the problem is opening large files and launching programs takes longer than you want, then a SSD can help.

You should consider backing up any important data on the C: Drive and do a clean install of Windows which can help improve performance...

1. Get an SSD. Recommendation: Samsung 840 or 850 Pro
2. Make sure your RAM is 8 GB.
