[SOLVED] Should i have Avast on a Windows 10 laptop?

Do you think it's better to use Avast than Windows Defender? After more than 2 months of using Avast, I have noticed Avast is downloading definitions much more often than Windows Defender. Does that mean Avast is better than Windows Defender?

After that, Windows Defender is just fine.
Ditch Avast.

Avast is more of a virus than viruses

Avast is a pup (potentially unwanted program) which is ironic as it pretends it can help remove them.
Don't look at AVG either as its just avast with another User Interface
Suprised Norton haven't bought them yet... would make it easier to spot them.

I actually used to use avast and i don’t think it’sa bad program but to be honest windows defender mostly works decently and stays out of the way so I’d say go with that.

I used Avast before, I had a subscription and even though I was paying it to use it, it was constantly asking me to buy other parts. I escaped to another one that doesn't ask for anything most of the year.

Best paid versions that I have tested are Kaspersky and ESET.

The best AV tool is that which exists between your ears......But this is the ultimate AV tool , like stated above.
