Question Should I keep 1500 Mhz clock on each ram stick for a total of 3000 mhz or clock both ram sticks to 3000 mhz each?

I have a ryzen r5 2600 and two sticks of 16gb 3400 ram. 3000 is the speed I would like to reach since higher speed is optimal with a ryzen chip. This said, when I overclock the ram, the speed is split between the two sticks. Should I clock the dual channel to 6000mhz for 3000 mhz on both sticks?

Please post the memory screen of CPU-Z. And list your motherboard please. You may be mis-interpreting what you are seeing.

Both sticks should run at the same speed. And enabling XMP (or A-XMP) should be all you need to do to run at full speed.

CPU-Z reports your memory speed as half of the speed you are setting in the bios. Your memory is clocked at 3000Mhz already.

Since your memory is double data rate (DDR), its true throughput speed is twice the freq it actually runs at.
