Hello everyone, i have a new 1080 gigabyte windforce oc, i was wondering if i should leave my fans on all the time to keep idle temperatures lower and avoid thermal paste degradation, or maybe this kind of gpu doesnt need to be cooled before 50c? im worried about the fan life span too. thanks in advance.

Solution
When something is off, it's not chipping away at its lifespan. Because PC fans are brushless, they don't care if they turn on-off-on-off etc etc either. Keep them off under ~55C give-or-take.
It really doesn't matter, whatever you prefer. For me I keep mine off until 50C then have them at 100% by 75C. A few friends and family members keep there GPU fans at 100% constantly and I haven't heard anything about the fans breaking and this has been a few years at the very least.
thanks a lot for your answer sir

Your welcome, the only thing I'd recommend is cleaning the dust out of the fans every so often so that the dust buildup won't ruin the fans or cause your GPU to overheat.
sir do you think that by having the gpu fans off while idle or using chrome they will have a longer life span? i want to keep this card as long as i can but im not sure if i should leave them off and deal with faster thermal paste degradation or keep them at 25% all time and deal later with a broken fan, im so confused.

Well there's no guarantee that the fans will break or not. In the 17 years I've been gaming on PC's I've never had a faulty fan or one to break and that's owning GPU's for roughly 2.5 to 3 years at a time and even when I do upgrade I usually give the old ones to friends that are on a budget so even when they own them there is no issues. I typically clean the dust out from my system every 3 months and redo the thermal paste on the CPU/GPU once a year.

thank you sir, i will leave them at 25% at idle and 70% max on full load, its a great graphics card, i guess this is the most efficient way to keep the gpu in optimal conditions.
