should i keep the i5 8600k?

ive been wondering if i should keep the 8600k i5 or return the entire build and go with the ryzer 7 2700k what are everyones thoughts

Honestly, I'd just keep it. You're really not going to gain much if anything with the Ryzen build. Seems like a pointless headache when you already have a very capable platform.

It will outperform the R2700X on some applications (games and single thread).

You would be unlikely to notice the difference in real world usage. Unless you absolutely need the extra threads, there is no benefit to you.

streaming and gaming but i still have my old 4790k build i was gunna run the streaming portion off there while my 8600k is running the games it self

Even in that case the 8600K is only handling the games, not the streaming, which the 8600K can do. In most games you can probably even let the 8600K handle the streaming too, the 6 cores are usually enough for gaming and streaming. It is only a few heavily intensive games where all 6 cores would be utilized and you'd need the second build for streaming. Either way, the 8600K is good enough fro your purpose.

There is nothing wrong with your motherbord.

Just make sure that your power supply has enough juice (650W+) and that you have a decent graphics card and you will have a decent system

That is a fine cooler, and honestly I wouldn't bother with liquid cooling.

So you want a new one? What is the older case? And how much are you willing to spend on a new one? A lot of cheap cases have transparent side panels nowadays.

thats what im saying i mean my old case is the azza genesis 9000 case fans need replacing and the little circuit board that was used for the fan controllers are now dead is replaceable yes but my brother wants this case now so

How much are you willing to spend on a new case? If you want something cheap, the Corsair Spec-01 is pretty darn cheap. Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 is also cheap. Both have windows. There's the Corsair 100R.

As your budget increases, the number of options exponentially increases.

my guess 100-200 dollars id say nothing higher then that like my brother wanted me to spend 500 on the corsair 1000d case like no way i'm spending like that kind of money for the case then u gotta pay for the case fans to on top of that just need something with good air flow ya know

There are too many case choices in your budget, and a lot of them are good options. The NZXT S340's are well-received as far as I know, but again, there a TON of other options as well, both cheaper and more expensive. Ultimately, it boils down to which case's looks you like, and the one that doesn't break the bank more than it should. Cooler Master has some excellent cases in the MasterCase series, Fractal Design also has some excellent choices like the Meshify C.

They all run a little hot, it's that crappy IHS TIM that Intel uses. Basically, the thermal paste between the CPU die and the piece of metal on top of the CPU is horrible and does not transfer heat efficiently, and the only way to fix that is a slightly risky procedure called delidding the CPU. I wouldn't recommend it for an average user, you'll have to bear with the higher temperatures.
