Should I overclock my graphics card

So I recently got an rx 580 msi gaming 4gb and I am wondering if I should overclock it is it worth it and what kind of performance increase would I get

Is it pegged at 100% now while gaming? If not then overclocking will do nothing at all.

I would consider it if I only needed a small bump in performance (such as being at 59fps!) but the RX 580 is essentially an overclocked 480 and it has already been pushed past the sweet spot well into diminishing returns. Think about it--it's less than 100MHz faster than the 480 but draws 35w more already, so how much more do you think can be squeezed out of it?

I was only thinking about because benchmarks I've run are kind of far off from ones I've seen in reviews

Benchmarks ?? really benchmarks don't matter at all , they're a way of bragging rights .
Its all about the gaming , if its performing in games then it just doesn't matter at all.

There's not much oc headroom on the 580s anyway in all honesty , as mentioned above its essentially an already overclocked 480.
