Should I put PC on desk or on floor?

I have a hard wood floor but my problem is I get some dust around my pc and some of it builds up on the top. Now I don't have the best desk, but I want to know if it would be better to put my desktop on the desk to the right of my monitor compared to the floor. This is a gaming PC we are talking about here. I also want to know if the airflow would be better on the desk. I have a roof over the top of where my desktop is (like the desk is a foot and a half over my PC.) and I know there are places where you can put fans on the top of my case to encourage air flow up from the CPU. I would like to know if the airflow from that would be better if there wasn't a desk over the top of it. But I am scared of my Desktop falling over. Would that be liable? It's not a really sturdy desk but I can make it a bit sturdier. So in terms of airflow and keeping dust off, would it be better to put my desktop on my desk?

Even a few inches off the floor can drastically reduce the amount of dust collection in the case. If you have a neutral or positive pressure fan setup in the case, filters over the intakes will go hand in hand with this for a very low-maintenance machine.

ok I just put the PC on my desk. It seems like the CPU is running a bit cooler :). The GPU temperature is the same though. I got a chance to clean out my dust panel and I can hear my front case fan more clearly it seems like now. I have a window on the side of my case so I can see inside my case just by looking over. I can feel the PC vibrate on my desk though

You can buy kits for your case fans to isolate the vibration and reduce noise, they can be fairly cheaply had or McGyvered.
