In 2011 back when I new probably 10% of what I know now (if that) about computers, I had a local computer store assemble a rig for me. I didn't know it then, but they weren't the most reputable computer store you could come across, or the brightest employees. I did enough research to pick everything but the psu, but didnt know how to research psu's.

Anyway here's my rig

Should I replace it now? I plan on building a new rig anyways and will most definitely not be using this one.

EDIT: Oh... uh... its tier 5. But it's worked for nearly 4 years. Strange.

Ya, I filed a complaint with the bbb for the company that built the rig for me. Everything was the highest quality parts except for that. I have been experiencing BSOD's, freezes, and graphical errors since I got it. Local company, I didn't know much about components at the time, and he convinced me that ultra was of the highest quality available.

yeah most stores do that. here, stores build pc based on the cpu.
they just slap an i7,
then say
8gb ram, but do not mention the brand of the ram (they'll give you cheap ones),
2gb gpu, the model of the gpu (they'll give you like a gt610 or something, the selling point is the 2gb vram lol)
1tera hdd,

Ya, but if you ask their opinion they generally dont intentionally mislead you into believing that the worst available is the best available.

Oh and did I mention he tried to convince me that asus was the most disreputable motherboard there was (feel free to laugh)? I actually had to order the mobo myself and have it shipped to him because he refused to order an asus himself.

in here, they will tell you that the setup is for GAMING, well, it will play games alright.
but, there are stores that will give you old outdated parts. My Auntie got one of those, and it wasn't even cheap. It's like old hardware with old price, ugly

Just replaced it with an evga g2 series 750w. Hopefully there's no permanent damage to my system. Haven't gotten any bsods or lockups since, so that's good.

Completely disassembled and cleaned my system. It was a mess! Even had cobwebs!

Did I mention the company that assembled it for me had the fans setup for a negative airflow design and mounted a sleeve bearing fan horizontally? *facepalms
