I've recently just purchased a used rig, with an intel stock heatsink. I on the other hand have a spare stock heatsink from my hp proliant ml110 g5 . Should i bother to change it?

Solution
As long as you're using decent thermal paste and are not planning to overclock, you may as well leave the stock on there. Swapping for that other one won't make too much of a difference.

HP tends to use a custom backplate/CPU socket. You likely don't have anything to screw the HP cooler down into on the other motherboard. Fairly easy to make it work, but it won't be as simple as removing the Intel cooler and putting the HP in its place, likely a trip to the hardware store at least.
