should I risk buying a used motherboard because of Lucid Virtu? is Lucid Virtu Worth it?

anyway, I just heard about Lucid Virtu that lets you switch between integrated graphics and the video card. I am gonna be doing gaming and photoshop and regular pc stuff as well. I want to buy a mini-ITX Socket 1150 motherboard AND supports Lucid Virtu around 120-130 Canadian dollars. But it was so difficult finding a motherboard like that, but I read in many articles that the Asrock Z87E-ITX has Lucid Virtu which made me happy, but I don't wanna buy a new one as it's outside my budget, but I found one on ebay that sells at 119 Canadian dollars WITH the shipping, so I am very very tempted to buy it, but... the guy on ebay doesn't do returns, and I am very scared of buying something used just because of Lucid Virtu.

Anyone here worked with Lucid Virtu and is the difference worth it? cuz I can get a new good asus or gigabyte mini-itx for like 124 or 140 bucks but without lucid Virtu. any input is appreciated as I haven't experienced Lucid Virtu myself. cheers~

I don't think it's worth it. It's a 3-4 year old technology that didn't offer much gain when it came out, and certainly won't in today's day of age.

Lucid Virtu will essentially do nothing for you. With that GTX 970 card, any capability that the iGPU can contribute is a 'drop in the bucket'. The GTX has a plethora of video outputs, so the use of lucid virtu to provide additional outputs through the motherboard is probably not needed. The power consumption of the GTX 900 series cards when idle or very low load such as photoshop would be compared to a game is negligible compared to the platform and CPU power usage.

nothing particularly in mind really, I just thought what a waste for the integrated GPU to not be used at all, and I didn't understand how small the difference is so
