Hey everyone, I will be building a new computer soon, and I am going to order parts next week or so.. So the questions is, should I make any upgrades before ordering, without going over the budget too much..

I dont live in the states so I dont really know, but I have heard that microcentre are selling i7 4790k for $250, Even thought your i5 is excellent, the i7 would be more future proof, one reason being its hyperthreading technology that more and more applications are taking advantage of.

Also if you arent planning to sli your graphics cards, for your motherboard, I would get the asus z97-k not z97-a

Absolutely bad idea. The Z97-k only has 4 phase power, which isn't ideal for overclocking. The 8 phase power Z97-a is a far better board.

850w psu is overkill way overkill for a single card setup. even if u were gonna sli the gtx 970 it still wouldint need 850w i would get the 750w psu. save some money
