So currently I have an AMD A8-5500 from a prebuild that i got a couple of years ago. And I decided to buy an RX 460, and it does fairly well but still bottlenecks in some games.

I've searched a bit and since I'm on a budget. I found an I5-3470 for quite cheap. So my question is, is it worth upgrading right now to this cpu or should i find something else.

Pic of forza horizon 3 running on my current cpu (30fps lock to avoid stuttering, also textures sometimes load too slow) https://imgur.com/a/xpo9Y

as Meanmachine1 pointed out, the system/CPU is EOL. Meaning only second hand (at least for reasonable price) is the only option in my opinion. Otherwise new, they are as expensive as newer architecture/mobo's. So that means you are really limited. If your buying second hand, make sure it's from a good seller.

you can start looking here : https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/?compatible_with=PBCwrH
but as you can see, this is more for the specs for each mobo, rather than availability.

well, obviously you need a new mobo to go with the I5, as it won't fit in your AMD mobo. Different chipsets. You need to find an LG1155 mobo, B or H class will do fine for that CPU.

The CPU will give you a bump in gaming performance with higher clocks/IPC. The I5 will stomp all over the A8. There will be no bottleneck with your GPU. The I5 will allow your GPU to max out, so you will gain some added FPS there too.

You should be able to use the ram from the A8 system, so you may be able to save some money there. Just make sure it's compatible with whatever mobo you get for the I5.

Forgot to mention, but I plan on getting a new mobo aswell

I've searched for mobos supporting this cpu but it seems that they're rare. Do you know of any good mobos for this cpu, preferably micro atx with sata 3 (found only sata 2) since I also have an ssd?
