should i upgrade my entire pc or just the gpu?

hey guys!
my pc is I7 3770 with 16 gb of ram (runing at 1600mhz if im not wrong)
and i have a gtx 780 (was in the oven twice 😉 will replace it soon)

now my question is:
black friday is closing in and coming.
should i upgrade my entire pc? (gpu, motherboard, ram and cpu)
or just the GPU?
the pc is for heavy gaming and vr.
going to learn some animation so gonna use cpu intensive softwares like zbrush and things like that.



should i upgrade? or the 3770 is still the monster it was?

i tought about getting a 2700x (u can tell me what parts will be good i will listen)
is 2700x an overkill for gaming and maya3d\zbursh\photoshop and things with editing? should i just save that 100$ and get 2600x?

If You plan to do editing then you will benefit from a 2700x over a 2600. If You plan to game at 1440p or 4k then AMD is the way to go.

Not really sure about your options, but 3rd gen is sure going to be obsolete in the upcoming years.

If you have the budget then you should get a better system (the whole pc). Main reason is power consumption, heat and overall efficiency.

For gaming, well you'll probably notice only slight difference (but things will be different if your GPU is more powerful), but for productivity you'll sure to have better results.

As for 2700x, you will certainly have a better gaming experience, and a very good multitasking performance. But if for some reason you use single core application alot more than multicore app, than you better go with intel as their single core speed is better. Single core app is something like Word/Powerpoint/Programming/Media player, multicore program is something like 3D editor software, render/compressing job or data science app. You can observe your most used app though, run it while looking at task manager, let it run hot and if you notice about 12-15% of i7's usage for one process, its a single core app, if you notice 100% ish usage, then it's multicore app

Finally, go with either 2700x or 8th gen i7, 16gb DDR4 and an ssd (preferably NVME one) and you'll have the beast.

Asrock B450 Pro4 is sufficient.

Yep B450 is good, amd chips doesn't really need an elite motherboard to run itself. You'll get decent specs with only B450 chipset
