[SOLVED] should i upgrade my gpu?

hi i recently bought a 144hz monitor without knowing that in order to get the full 144hz i need to average 144fps. right now i have a 1060 3gb and i run games at about 80fps and i was wondering should i upgrade to a 2060 or would it be a wast of money?

Yes, that system should be able to handle the RTX 2060. It is roughly the equivalent of the GTX 1070 Ti.

Sorry, I thought you understood. Yes, that would get you at or closer to 144 fps depending on the game, game settings, and the screen rez. On a high end game like BFV at ultra settings, no. And of course it is only a 1080p/60 fps card when using ray tracing in that game.
