Should I Upgrade My Graphics Card or Wait?

Hi everyone, long time lurker and this is my first post on the site. I built a gaming PC in November 2009, and ideally want to make it last until November 2015 still playing games at 1920x1080 at 60fps with the game settings above minimum. I am trying to decide if I should upgrade my video card or just wait until I build a whole new PC. My specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 at 2.66 GHz
MOBO: Asus P6T SE
RAM: 6GB at 1333 MHz
HD: 1TB at 7200 RPM
Video Card: Two Radeon HD 4870s CrossfireX’d together

I am considering stepping up to the Radeon R9 270 or possibly even the 280x if my computer can make use of it. With this rig, will I see much improvement in in-game graphics? Are my current 4870s the bottleneck that are holding my system back or should I just wait until I get a whole new PC at the end of next year?

Thanks for any opinions you may have!

You should get a 270x. There are many 270x's out there. They are only around 200-250 Us Dollars. A lot of them are sold out but if you go on PcPartPicker.com you can look at many of them. As well there are Radeon 7870s I prefer Ghz Edition ones which are just a bit lower performance than the 270x. They are 190-230 Us Dollars. And as well it might be your ram. After a bit your ram will almost be running at max lowering your frame rate.
