Should I upgrade my mobo to OC my fx 6300 for the new rx480

Read the title. I dont want to waste 400 for new mobo, cpu, and ram plus the new rx 480.

What motherboard do you have right now?

Personally I would not spend the money on a Motherboard to overclock a chip you will probably want to replace in a year or so, the performance gain you get will not be worth the money you spend.

@Rogue Leader (sorry idk how to reply) but I have thr asus m5a97 le r2 (i didnt know this mobo couldnt OC when i bought it). I was thinkimg of upgrading because I wanted to reduce bottleneck on the rx 480

Yeah I wouldn't overclock on that board. Honestly you want a 8+2 power phase board, you will be spending around $100 for it and IMO you won't get $100 of performance.

I would save that $100 for a motherboard/cpu/memory upgrade, the RX 480 won't be bottlenecked as bad as you think.

For your processor? If the stock one is too loud and you want to bring the temps down a bit sure.
