Hello, I am thinking of upgrading some parts of my computer for gaming. I don't know if I should, and if I should, what should I do replace with what.

My system specs are:

Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate
Motherboard: ASRock H55M-LE
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz Quad Core
RAM: 4 Gigabytes DDR3 memory
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series 1 Gigabyte Memory
HDD: 465 Gigabytes of space

Thanks in advance.

Well the SSD wouldn't do much for games. It will make for very fast boot times and opening programs. I would definitely get a new GPU before upgrading your CPU. Also, another 4 gigs of RAM would definitely show you some better performance.

But I would say start with upgrading the GPU first. Do you have a budget?

Well, I'm thinking AMD Radeon R9 270, since its pretty cheap or should I go with 270X, but Geforce GTX 770 is also an option. And I will get another 4 gigs, so I'll have 4+4.

So it looks like the cheapest you can get a GTX 770 is around $300.

The 270x twin frozer is about $150. And has very close performance to the 280, which is $190. I would save the extra $40 if it was me and get the 270x over the 280.

But the 280x has a decent amount better performance and cost $280. And I would rather spend the extra $20 and get the GTX 770 over the 280x.

So to sum it all up. Your options are really the 270x at $150 or the GTX 770 for $300. Here is a performance chart of most common GPU's running Battlefield 4 at 1080p. This is what I was using as a reference.

Upgrading wouldn't be a bad idea. I do want to let you know that you shouldn't go with anything super high end. Something like an R7 260X or a R9 270 is ideal. So you know, I have an Intel Core i5 3350P @ 3.1GHz, 8GB of Dual Channel Memory (4GB x2), and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti (very close to the R7 260X if you are looking at AMD). I can run almost every title at 1080p on Medium or High Setting. If you are only going to be doing gaming and no video production or heavy work, then upgrading the processor to a newer Core i5 like an Ivy Bridge or Haswell could benefit you very well. If you are doing heavy work like video editing I recommend picking up something like a Core i7 3770 or 4770. Most cards in the 7700 series will still perform good enough at gaming to run at 1080p on low to medium setting, however picking up something like a R7 260X or a R9 270 will definitely benefit you if you upgrade the Processor as well. For Memory definitely pick up another 4GB stick to make 8GB Dual Channel (4GB x2). I don't know what kind of power supply you have but you may want to check, because with all these upgrades your computer will need to be able to power them.
