Should I upgrade my pc or buy a next generation console?

Ok, So a year ago or so I built myself a new computer as it's so much cheaper.

It has a AMD A10 (quad-core) processor, 8gb memory, 500gb HD and the cheapest graphics card I could find.

So now I have the cash to spare, the time has come for an upgrade.

The choice is either the ease of the next generation consoles or an upgrade, but I don't know if the upgrade would be worth it.

I would get a i7 (quad) 4GHz and a £150 or up graphics card. Which would cost more than a next gen console, but if it's substantially better I wouldn't mind.

Thoughts? - Thanks

You can do more than just play games and use a few app-like programs on a PC, and at the end of the day, everything on the PC will benefit from an upgrade. If you need a console like experience, you can always lower your resolution and buy an Xbox controller.
Well not really much need for i7.. a i5 will get the job done.

It will run games at a higher quality and more fps with a lot more game choices.

If you can get a i5+gtx 970 than your looking at a beast 1080p machine.

For a little cheaper option I would recommend a 280x.

Yeah a 270x has more graphical horsepower than a console but is not overkill to get something better like even a 285.

A 285 is one of the latest models that will be more feature rich.
