Hello, recently i've been having issues with my pc over heating and just performance issues. It was built in sept/oct 2010 and over 3 years i've only added an SSD and cooler. Right now i'm not sure what I should do so I need some help!

I currently play League of legends, Arma 3, CSGO (I play alot of free fps/cod aswell). I'd also like to stream but on my current pc it's just not cutting it.

Current Rig:
Case
Cooler Master Storm Scout
CPU
Intel Core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz
RAM (Kingston HyperX)
4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55 LX (LGA1156)
Graphics (ATI Radeon 5870)
1024MB ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Hard Drives
500GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device (SATA)
500GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device (SATA)
120GB Corsair Force GT ATA Device (SSD)
Power Supply
Corsair HX series HX650 650W
Cooler
Cooler Master X6 Elite

Or would it just be better to start fresh and build a whole new pc? For a new pc I would feel comfortable spending around 1500 (in about a month would be nice if it was cheaper) but that that ballpark i'd like to stay in. Also I live in Canada so Canadian sites would be better :)

Thanks!

Well a new CPU and memory upgrade could help, but then maybe the problem lies elsewhere... if it's software-related then you don't want to waste money on a bunch of new components. The GTX760 isn't a waste anyway because it's a much better graphics card, but I'd personally advise somebody with your hardware to hold off on CPU upgrade until at least Skylake launches.

What's skylake? And I think I'm going to go back and get a 770 spend the extra 100$

Sorry, that's Intel next generation of CPUs after Haswell. Haswell delivered almost no gain in performance over Ivy Bridge. And Ivy Bridge only delivered half as much gain over Sandy Bridge as Haswell delivered over Ivy! So really no big improvements happening in CPUs. Skylake is the earliest possible point that Intel will actually really make some major advances. Course even that might be a letdown too, which is why I said "at least until Skylake" 🙂 AMD made a huge performance advance with their latest CPUs, but they're still catching up in gaming performance.

Oh neat, didn't know anything about skylate guess i'll wait and see. Just picked up a EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX seems to be running alot better than the gtx 760 going to need to do a bit of overclocking to get a little better performance

yeah it is really nice! I was getting 25-30 fps on arma on ultra setting so I think with a little overcloking It should be good for couple month until I upgrade my mobo and cpu.

I wasn't using the beta until now and it seems a little better but still get random lag sometimes, so I think i'm gunna have to do some oc'ing or just upgrade my ram/cpu/mobo. Sorry for late response I was at the lake 🙁

So its been about 10 days now and it's still not running great. I went and got 8gbs of ram which helped a bit but still not seeing any noticeable difference it honestly feels worse then when I had my old video card / ram. In CS:GO I get 280-15 fps which is honestly a very big gap and I lag in smokes and flashes which is honestly silly due to the fact I didn't before with my 5870 and thoughts?
