There are some differences in browsing, but the biggest differences is when I'm downloading files. I'm going upwards of 600kpbs! 😀

P.S. It is in megabits. Megabits are substituted with a lower case b, while megabytes are substituted with an upper case B. Mbps: Megabits per second.

Curious what your results are on here. Had problems of low ping and slow downs. Company service technician reported we had 196 customers assigned to our server when 100 was the recommended max. Put us on a different server. Click on the 'speed test' icon. What'd you get?

Mine currently are:

Argh! You've got to take these results with a bit of salt, they're done on a laptop. I've sent my main PC in for some repairs.

Here they are:

5374kbps/425kbps
Paying for 6000/512

I'm using the Chicago server and I'm in Richmond, KY.

P.S. Done from one floor beneath router.

Now if my IP would drop the price on 6.0. Hey, learned this fall SBC will offer a new IP service that will be 20.0 kbps or better! Should be before or right after the first of the year. Sorry no real details, just heard rom a good source 20.0 or better will become reality soon.

Yeah, I was lucky. 6Mbps only cost $5 per month more than 3Mbps..

Do you mean 20Mbps? That should be great, if so! Is that on fiber optic or regular?

ATT is going to offer a Fiber optic package (I believe) that includes TV, phone and a 20mbps (20 compared to your current excellent 6) IP deal. The tech from ATT was here, well out on the street trouble shooting the switchbox and check in to see how fast my connection was working), and did say they will have the capability of 100mbps! Apparently 20mbps will be the offer this fall or at least by early 2008.

Congrats man, feel a difference?

I should upgrade my connection.

Really? That's awesome! This fall? Whoa! I don't really need it, but it sounds like a huge step forward. I mean, I've been waiting for FiOS to come to me, but I think AT&T beat Verizon to the punch!
