i built my computer in 2015.
i7 4790k 4.4ghz overclock
16gb ram
gtx 970

i can still play all the games i like on high and ultra settings...

i mean, it's 4 year old hardware, and i feel like i dont need to upgrade ??

will computer last for 5 more years yet?

when will i be forced to upgrade?

Solution
Are there any mechanical hard drives in the system? Especially if you use it a lot, it is conceivable they are getting more likely to fail. Upgrading to one or more SSDs may be a good idea. It ought to have at least another year or two to go, but a new CMOS battery (most likely a CR3032, but that's easy to check) might be a good idea too. What PSU do you have? Capacitor aging could start to have an effect.
If it is running all your games the way you like though, there doesn't seem to be much reason to upgrade. If you want to throw some money at it, buy an external USB3.0 drive big enough to back up the system, and do so regularly, or at least any time you add some valuable file(s) to it.

No need to upgrade, this right here is your only indication of an upgrade.

5 years, if you keep playing the same games then sure. AAA titles? Maybe playable on low, but doubtful in 5 years time.
You will be forced when you find a game you want to run, but cant. Could be 5 years, could be next week.

If you would like to play at 1440p or 4K with similar settings you can upgrade the graphics card. Otherwise I see no reason to upgrade now. The CPU is fine still and you have plenty of RAM. Maybe get an SSD if you don't have one? Perhaps more HDD storage if you like to keep games on your drive.
