Question Should I use gtx 1050 3gb on a mobo made in 2004

So while my main PC is not working and returned I don't have a PC (not just to play games). Ive been thinking about my 1st PC which is made in like 2004 with AMD Semitron supporting socket a and 1gig DDR RAM. So on the MB there is a slot for my graphics card (gtx 1050 3gb), but should I put it in, because I am worried it might break, should I try tho?

Motherboard is probably too old to be compatible but if it's got a pcie 16x slot, give it a go. Nothing bad will happen, if it works it works, if not, no display.
