Hi guys i want your help!! :)
So i have around 250 euros and im going to buy r9 380(i think i ll go with sapphire) but when is the release date of new gpus and will they redue the price in the previus gpus??? is r9 380 will cover me for the next 2 years at least? i play only Gw,lol, left for dead, csgom, wow, widlstar and these kinds of games

thanks in advance

Mid-2016 was the latest Pascal release timeframe I've heard. New releases tend to reduce prices of the lower-tier GPUs, the mid to higher end hold their value better. I don't think it would hurt to wait it out & see - provided your current GPU will get you through 6 months?

I have a gt 730 But i think i can handle 6 months more 😀 So for the price of r9 380 Later i will take r9 390. Because i think i will play other games in the feature :) ! Or should i take r9 380 is good card? I heard about a year ago that was powerfull for mid end. Idk for now.

ScrewySqrl is right, the R9 380 is probably the best value 1080p-oriented GPU on the market. 4GB makes a noticeable difference in some new games, but isn't really necessary. I have one in my secondary PC and it's seriously underestimated.

FYI, mine is a Sapphire NITRO 4GB version (don't make the same mistake as me by getting the Dual-X one; its cooling capabilities were awful).

Problem with my cooling solution there sir? 😀
No harm when the H100i was on sale, barely more than a basic liquid coolers and results in a Thermal Margin between 60-70 (max available in OD) at full load. Capable of pushing my OC on, so we'll see. Don't see the problem with it myself. Under-utilized, maybe. A bad idea? Not a chance.

But sure, don't trust my comments related to a GPU on my overkill cooling of a CPU......makes sense, absolutely. :ange:

Instead, trust the guy who's been on the forum for 5 days & has provided no clear solution yet.
(Not necessarily disagreeing with their comments, just making a point).

Back on topic though, if you can get by a little while (if your 730 does what you want it to do) there will be no harm in waiting. Prices will come down a bit as ScrewySqrl stated, regardless of Pascal release date. Comparing a GT 730 to an R9 380 though is a no contest. You won't regret a 380 purchase today at all, but saving a bit extra cash on it in a couple of months wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Haha 😀
My 10 month old account (Somasundaram Sathiyathasan) was deactivated due to the forum admins accidentally giving me the ability to choose the solution for any question. I stopped contributing soon after and I only decided to make a new account earlier this week.

Back to the question, a lot of people I have encountered on the web have discouraged buying a low-end GPU like a R7 250, GT 730 or similar. The value for money is not great, compared to cards like the R9 380 and GTX 970.

Fair enough - if true. No reason to believe/disbelieve. Moving on....

Nobody is encouraging the OP to buy a 730, they currently have a 730.

I totally agree the 380 or 970 represent good value for money, but if the OPs card is working fine for what they want it to do, then a 380/970 when prices drop even more will represent even better value.
