Win Xp created a new SID after system repair,now I can't access any files or programs.How do I re-activate my old SID's.

If you go into My Computer and from the Tools menu choose Folder Options then View, you can scroll down the list and tick to "Show hidden files and folders" then untick "Hide protected files". Then go to Documents and Settings and you should find all the old Username folders in there. Select what you want and copy it all over to a new account. As for programmes, in the Programme Files folder, you should be able to locate the relevant files of type .exe and create new Desktop shortcuts. Unless when you installed them, you clicked on "This user only" they should all still work.

If it didn't work, the files aren't there. How much hard disk space is in use?

I can't think of a Registry fix for this but depending on the kind of system repair you referred to, you may have backed up copies of the old Registry and if you're really feeling brave, you could always revert to those. Look for files of type.bak in a system wide search and if you find System, Software, Security and SAM, rename the same files in %systemroot%\windows\system32\config as .old then import those old .bak files and rename them by simply deleting the bak bit.
