so i'd been using my regular dvi cable for a while and it worked fine for the most part but sometimes it would get all pixelized and say it needed a dual link

so i went out and grabbed a dual link dvi and i plugged it into my gpu which has a dvi-i link and dvi-d link

i tried the dvi d port and my frames dropped to like 70 on my 144 hz monitor so i tried the dvi i port and im getting around 120-140 but when i used my old single link dvi cable i would get about 160 fps

any idea how to fix

I'm reading some stuff about 144hz and DVI and it should work with a dual link, you can try lowering the monitors refresh rate and see if the issues disappear though. Or try another connection standard if you can like Displayport.

Could possibly be an issue with the card itself, ive never heard of a display connector halving sometimes framerate. As long as it supports the resolution and refresh rate it shouldn't have an issue.

I haven't changed resolutions or anything so I'm not too sure if that could be it, and I'm working with a 970 at the moment, sorry I thought I mentioned it
