Site loads slow

Your site is taking 15 t0 20 seconds to load when I start it or goto another page, it does it on all my computers, all other sites load fast.

Happens to me too now. Firefox says it is connecting to "smartadserver," which can't be terribly important.

The site was very slow for me yesterday, even though I prevent anything from smartad.com from loading, but has otherwise been fine.

I have adblock plus but it was still doing it for me. However, it has since stopped on its own, so Tom's must have fixed it.

The "Right Column" which displays the Profile, Threads, and Messages, seems to work better (more precisely) on my slower XP computer than on my newer Win 7 computer with the i-7 920 CPU

Yep, it is slow and you can't search posts. When you post and then there's a link to choose 'all of your posts' but then it's not in chronological order. There's also the most recent posts but there's posts listed at the top that were from two or more years ago. Maybe the programmers don't care?

Well there are some recurring problems with the site, but it is no longer slow for me, and hasn't been in a while. Try clearing cache/cookies or try a different browser or something. Also Adblock Plus and Flashblock help.

Of late (few days) Tom's Hardware site seems to run faster and more efficiently.
