Question Size of drop-down menu in the files explorer

Hello,

When saving a file (under a new name, i.e. "save as") the explorer opens and you can type the first letters of the file in order to search for the file names already present that begin with these letters. This is very practical if you want to successively save a series of files with almost the same name except, for example, a different number.

In this case a drop-down menu is displayed with a maximum of 16 occurrences. On a large screen (high resolution) it would be possible to display many more than 16 names. Which would be useful if you successively save a series greater than 16... For the moment you have to use the elevator to see more names. It's a bit annoying.

I imagine that a setting in the registry allows you to change this limit of 16. Does anyone know this setting?

Thanks.

Are you able to enlarge the window by moving the upper edge to the uppermost edge of the monitor and then drag the lower edge of the window downward? As close to the bottom of the monitor as possible?

I can do so and depending on the number of files the elevator bar will disappear depend on the number of files listed.

And you may be able to see more of the files by changing the view:

For example from Details to Small icons.

Registry edits are not recommended and only should be attempted after a full system backup including the registry itself. (Full system backups being something that should always be being done anyway.....)
