Question Sketchup Always freezes on Mac

Hello guys,
I'm experiencing some trouble with sketch up on a 21.5" iMac with Intel i5 2.7ghz, 8gb of ram, and 1tb hdd. When I open a 119mb file and work on it, the program unexpectedly freezes for long amounts of time. This doesn't happen any of my PCs. Is it related to OS X or a software issue of some kind or is it the machine itself? Thanks

Happens with myself as well, especially as the files get larger, the freezes get longer. I'm calling shots on it being a problem affiliated with sketchup, as my GPU/CPU/Ram usage is never even close to being fully utilised, and OS X doesn't limit the hardware in that regard. Same with myself on my windows PC, everything is perfectly normal and works great, even on my first PC that is of a lower-end then my mac.

Thanks. Yeah this Mac is a school machine and when I work on the file at home on my custom PC, everything works fine. Both the schools Mac and my PC are more than capable of running sketchup.
