My ideas for a 6700k build

Using this build for high end gaming. First self built, interested in overclocking but have never done it before.

I have several questions:
1. Will this cooler work with this CPU and case
2. What sort of ram do I need? OC ram? How much?
3. Trying to decide between IPS and 144ghz monitor. I have heard IPS has better colors but tearing and 144ghz can have washed out colors.

You can't get to that list unless you are logged into your newegg account. I'd recommend using https://pcpartpicker.com/ instead.

Also for the money I'd say you're better off with x99 and a 5820k. I was faced with the same question when building a rig for a friend and I'm happy with the decision to get x99/5820k over z97/6700k. That's my 2 cents on the mobo/cpu.

I can't see your list but Skylake runs cool so most coolers that support 155x should be good. Personally I got a H100i gtx over kill but better safe than sorry. Also IPS and TN both have their pros and cons. 144hz is the refresh rate (fps). If you have a card that can manage 100+ fps go for it. If not 60hz should be great too.

Still for the money you can go 5820k/x99 and you will have 6 real cores (12 threads) and a ton more cache. For gaming you won't notice much of a difference but in other tasks you will.

Here is a link to system I just built for a friend, yes its extremely overkill but you can see the mobo/ram

Also on the topic of OC'ing RAM for a first time builder I would advise against it. CPU/GPU is a different story.

Price doesnt include the monitor which is out of stock . That should change .

No need for the expensive water cooler for such a cool running processor .
16 gig of RAM is more than a gamer needs . If that changes you can add more later .
Power supply is cheaper , high quality and more than enough grunt
