Hi all

I normally play Skyrim at 1080p with 4K textures but I now have a 4K TV so if I play Skyrim on the TV would the textures still be low Res? If the games native textures were used.

Will I be taking a performance hit in native 4k with the 4k textures? I'm running an Rx 6600XT with a ryzen 5500 and 16gbs of ram on an msi a320m-pro-max connected to a superflower 550W leadex platinum.

I’m not sure how it will handle 4K with the miss the 6600 XT. The last I played Skyrim (LE). I really loaded it up with 4K textures basically replacing all textures. some 8K skins, high poly heads and bodies, hair mods , high poly objects, lighting, shadow and water mods, vanilla clothing/armor replacers. Basically everything I could find to overhaul the game environment, towns and NPCs.

I got 60 FPS on an RX 580 8GB and i5-3570K at 1080p. I don’t know if it would go faster as I leave VSync on. The 6600 XT is a lot faster. So it may handle it with 4K textures at 4K. I suppose it depends on how nuts you are with mods.
