Skyrim randomly minimizes to desktop.

Skyrim randomly minimizes itself, or even silently crashes to my desktop. I have looked at many different sites and similar questions, but I cannot find a proper solution. I have no other notifications that force Skyrim to minimize, this computer is two weeks old, and Skyim is the only problem on my steam.

My Specs (Let me know if I forget something that I should have included):
AMD Radeon 270X
16 GB of RAM
i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz
64-bit operating system and x64 based processor

Could be a virus. My mac has the same issue on windows. Try refreshing your system by putting in an install disc, booting to it, then pressing system refresh. Good luck!

It's an Alienware Aurora, that is fresh out of the box. I have only installed steam games and minecraft to it. I have McAfee, and it hasn't detected anything over the two weeks.

That is strange. Maybe it is McAfee derping. Try to disable it and see if it happens.

I did one complete playthrough, about two hours, no issues. I'll see if I can do another playthrough like that, and if all as well, I'll just pin the issue on McAfee. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it just crashed again. the only thing I had open was the steam menu, and a chat with a friend on steam in the background. I did a disk check and all seems well. It's truly stumping me.

I'd be very surprised if that was it, because literally the only thing I have downloaded off of the web was Steam, then Steam has downloaded the games. But I'll give it a shot.

Have you updated your graphics card drivers yet? The drivers out of the box may be old.

Nope, just checked again. Graphics card drivers are up to date. Thank you to everyone who's been trying to help.

I can't play in safe mode because it requires sound to play. I just uninstall all graphics drivers and then reinstalled them. Crashed within 15 minutes of beginning the game.

Hmm... I guess you should probably wipe because Skyrim is all you have.

You could try it, but I doubt it would help. Sooner you wipe, the better.

I think it could be spyware, but I am not totally sure. Something could have snuck its way in. I am not totally sure, though.

Does it display a message when it crashes. Also, are you running Vanilla or Modded Skyrim?

I'm running a Vanilla Skyrim. It displays no error messages. I just discovered that I forgot to install the drivers for my display. Perhaps that was the villain behind all of this.
