I have a new system
Maximus Hero VII board
4790 K Liquid cooled H100I
16 GIG Kingston Blackfury Ram
Samsung SSD plus 2 other drives
2 SLI Asus 970 Video cards
Corsair RM 1000 Power supply

When I run in SLI soon as game starts or quickly after system shuts down.
SLI is recognized in Nvidea

I have moved video cards around in slots, both work fine when running one.
I have upgraded from a 750 Watt to 1000 watt power supply
I have checked all connections
I have checked ram it is good
Have ran furmark test on both cards
Have ran test on CPU
Nothing is overheating at shutdown
I have bought new SLI bridge
Did Bios update

Is there a setting in BIOs i may need to change. I think it may be power problem but do not know
Everything runs great on one card.
Thanks Bill

2 970's and an Intel CPU at stock could be run on a 500W PSU so it wasn't a lack of power. But seeing as how the problem goes through both PSUs it surely is not a power issue unless you have the bad luck of two bad PSUs, but, I doubt it.

You do have all the power plugs in both cards, correct?
You installed the Intel chipset drivers and the management engine?
Are any of your SSDs/drives using a SATA controller that takes up PCIe lanes?
Have you tried these two cards in a different system by chance?

At this point I am wondering if it is the motherboard...

I have exactly the same setup as you, the brands are different for memory and gpu. I have a similar problem. When sli is on on some games is fine. On battlefield hardline is not. Have you found the issue?
