sli and monitors

what are the advantage/disvantages to using sli/crossfire (witch is better and how many monitors can sli/crossfire support in total)

SLI works better than Crossfire. Advantage is you get more FPS than a single card. And monitor support will depend on your GPU's display port/s. It could be three or four.
