SLI Bridge problematic (single or duo)

Hello guys, I have 2 EVGA GTX 1080 FTWs but I’m still waiting shipment of my HB EVGA SLI Bridge. There’s two slots on GPUs but I have a bridge which came with MoBo. It’s single slot. Can I use it for SLI ? Thanks for helps...

Yes you can use the single. The HB bridge will use both but it only makes the most difference at 4k or over 120FPS in 1440p. Otherwise a single slot will work. I had a similar experience when I got my 1080SLI rig running because the brigdes that came with the cards weren't the right space for my MOBO and I had use my old ribbons. If you have a 2nd ribbon you can borrow or find it will help a little too.

I had to order a HB bridge from NV for the correct spacing and spent a week or so using one then two ribbons. It does make a difference but not necessarily that much.

I’m not able to borrow second ribbon atm. I’m using 144 Hz - 1440p right now. It’ll take about 1-2 weeks to gather HB one. Is it ok to use with single one ? Or should I wait instead. Thanks...

You can use a single. You just won't get the maximum potential FPS the cards offer.

NV cards for decades only used one for 2 way SLI. The second slot was originally 3 or 4 way SLI. It wasn't until pascal they started pushing using it for 2 way and that was mainly for 4k.

I just don't recommend tweaking the cards to compensate. They are great OC beasts but generally speaking you're still going to be limited by the one ribbon at that point. Best to wait to tweak until everything is as it should be.
