Hello everyone,

I started off by having this graphics card:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inno3d-geforce-gtx-970-oc-4096mb-gddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-039-in.html

and have recently bought this one to SLI with it:

https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Asus+GeForce%C2%AE+GTX+970+STRIX+DCU+II+OC+Graphics+Card+?productId=61860

However no matter what I try, Nvidia control pannel keeps saying that SLI can't be enabled due to no bridge connected. I've tried 2 so i'm certain that isn't the problem.

My motherboard is a Z97 Pro Gamer so I know it's compatible. Both cards are detected via device manager, nvidia control pannel + gpu-z.

What i've tried:

  • Updating / Reinstalling drivers
Uninstalling drivers, putting both cards in with NO bridge, installing, shutdown, put bridge in, turn on again.

I've researched online that different cards can SLI IF both are the same brand (970) and both have the same VRAM, aka 4g in this case, the rest can mix and match.

Any ideas on this guys? Thanks.

Normally having the same gpu and vram is all that is needed, but some cards use a custom bios are will not SLi with others cards. There's a utility called DifferentSLIAuto That I have heard enables SLI in these situations. I have never had to use it myself but I figured it's be worth a shot.
