I have an EVGA GTX 970 SC and I have the MSI GTX DDR5T 970 OC Edition and I am trying to run them in SLI. My system is recognizing both cards but in NVIDIA Control Panel it is saying I need to attach the SLI Bridge to select max 3D settings. Can anyone help me get these to run in SLI. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and software and rebooted with and without the bridge to try to get it to recognize the configuration of my two cards. I don't see why these cards would not run in SLI so I need any advice or assistance i can get please.

You can try a different bridge. If that doesn't work it most likely is not compatible with the msi card. Certain evga 970 are only compatible with specific evga cards. Zotac is another company that only suggests only using the exact same model and brand 970.

Supposedly you can mix and match vendors when it comes to SLI, but I've always been a bit suspect of that claim. As krells suggests, try a different SLI bridge (you do have one, don't you?) If that doesn't work, you can try synchronizing the clock speeds of the two cards with something like MSI Afterburner (EVGA has similar software, can't recall the name ATM.)

The situation has changed dramatically... I appreciate your responses. After some deep research I do believe that EVGA is just a bad brand when it come to compatibility with anything outside of its own brand. This is ok though because they make a good card. Being that the EVGA was a gift from a customer at my store I was not too concerned with it working because I could just give the card back. However, after telling the gentleman that gave the card that it wont talk properly with my MSI card, he claimed to have another Identical EVGA laying around and that he would look for that and give me that one too. He said that if he didn't find the other EVGA card that he would just take me to get a new card all together. Why he is being so generous I will never know. He hasn't asked for any "Favors" bahahaha so I don't imagine I have to worry there lol.

Anyway I should be running SLI EVGA SC 970 here in the next few days and if so I will keep you posted. If all goes well then I am going to sell my MSI 970 OC and put the money into a 1440 144Hz display to move to the next lvl of gaming for me.

Thanks for the responses though it meant a lot.
