sli no longer working after moving pc

So I had to relocate my pc due to my son enjoying playing with the power buttons. I had to unplug everything and then reconnect and now i cannot get sli to enable. Nothing internally was moved but whenever i try to enable sli nvidia control panel "stops responding" and closes. When i highlight the sli option none of the available monitors turn green either. i have been playing on the same setup for months with no problems.

i have tried rolling back the driver and doing a clean install of them also. As well as checking the sli bridges and for loose cables. i have also reseated the gpus and checked they are running the same pcie type.

I run a gigabyte black edition mobo
2 sli 970s evga
intel 17 4790

any ideas would be awesome

The newest Nvidia update fixed the issue
