Technically yes, but if one or both of card uses a custom bios(even from the manufacture) they may not be recognized as SLI compatible. If that happens I have heard of people having success using a program called DifferentSLIAuto to enable SLI.

^^This....I had two different EVGA 970s, but factory overclocked. The second GPU was a newer SSC and the first GPU was the original release SC variant. Due to different BIOS's, the GPUs did not work in SLI. EVGA even had a list for what cards of theirs SLI and do not SLI with others. I wound up selling my original SC and bought another SSC.
