Hi,

I'm buying a new PC and wanted to ask a question for you pro's out there 😀

I have the option of either buying

2x Nvidia Geforce GTX titans

Or

3x nvidia Geforce GTX 980TI

What would you guys say is better?

GTX980ti performance is very close to titan X. No need for titanX really.

Past that, dual GTX980ti should run anything well. Adding a third is incrementally less effective, and you would need a much more expensive motherboard with three good pcie x16 slots.

In that case I see no reason to get more than 1 980 Ti.

@1080P, GTX970 or GTX980 would be about all that you want.
What cpu are you looking at?

3X GTX980Ti will be better.. but thats WAY overkill... 3rd cards always have diminishing returns... if you still wanna be a boss then simply get 2X 980Ti and save your money for a 1440p monitor or a 4k monitor or 3X 1080p... my 2cents...

As in, when you have two cards, adding another won't give you much performance boost. It makes absolutely no sense to buy more than one 980 Ti for 1080p gaming. Even one is a little bit overkill. If you plan on spending thousands of dollars on graphics cards, it's worth spending a lot on a nice 1440p monitor, maybe even one with G-sync if you're really trying to get a great gaming set up.
