I'm trying to run the simplest of games such as smite but I always get extreme lag with FPS around 20. Here are my specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (no overclock)
Sapphire HD 5830
6GB DDR2 memory
160gb hard drive
750 watt power supply
Windows 10

As you can see, I do meet the game's requirements but I don't know why I'm still lagging
Also, if this helps, the cpu is constantly around 60°C idle with stock cooler and the hard drive seems to be constantly at 100 percent on idle.

I suspect a hard drive problem no?

A 160 GB would be pretty old, The CPU is not horrible, a clean Windows setup on a new hard-drive would be a good idea to start with. I got a 256 GB SSD for $70 a few weeks ago for someone, while not the best model, even...

Also make sure the RAM is all good, I'd try running on a few sticks of RAM at time. If you have a 4 gb and a 2 gb stick, try to get a second 4 gb stick to work in dual channel mode.
